Pier West is an extremely large and complicated residential development project by Bosa Development in the City of New Westminster. It will be the tallest waterfront residential property in the Lower Mainland and is the final piece in the City’s plans to make their waterfront more accessible and vibrant for the public. It is an exciting project with many future benefits. However, the construction impacts on local businesses and residents are very high. To help mitigate these impacts, the C&E Group has been working with Bosa since Spring 2019 to develop and manage the following:

• A Stakeholder Working Group for local businesses

• A Community Liaison function

• A communications and project updates strategy

• A detailed signage and wayfinding program

• Several relationships with businesses, residences and residential property managers in the area.

The C&E Group has also been working with Bosa’s senior management to help lead and facilitate several decision-making processes and meetings between Bosa and City staff, trying to help everyone find their way through the unique complexities and risks with this project. The C&E Group was referred to Bosa from the City of New Westminster after working on a very complex sewer upgrade project for Metro Vancouver in the same area in 2018.
