The City of Powell River is in the process of designing and building a new consolidated wastewater treatment facility in order to meet federal and provincial discharge regulations. From 2017-2018, the C&E Group worked closely with City staff and the project’s engineering consultant Associated Engineering to develop and implement an engagement program for the design phase of the project. Key deliverables included: strategy workshops for staff and Council, a communications and engagement strategy, community meetings and open houses, issues management, online surveys, door-to-door visits with residents, materials and website development, and interim and final reports on engagement activities and key findings. On May 17, 2018 Council decided on their preferred theme for the exterior design of the new facility, citing the engagement summary report as contributing to their decision.
